Financial Mechanism of the EEA – New financing opportunities for NGOs

“NGO Fund”, part of the Financial Mechanism of the European Economic Area (EEA) 2009-2014 with a total budget of 30 million euros will be available for financing civil society projects in Romania.
The overall objective of the Programme is to support the development and strengthening civil society contribution to social justice, democracy and sustainable development.
The five components of the program that can apply for funding are:

Involvement, aimed at encouraging active citizenship and participation in community life, to ensure compliance and enforcement of fundamental democratic values

Social Justice, aimed at helping to combat social exclusion and reduce disparities within society and between different groups in society

Sustainable development, with the objective of supporting sustainable development and improvement of the environment in Romania, through the contribution of NGOs and public participation

Basic social services, with the objective of increasing access and provision of basic social services for vulnerable groups

Capacity building of NGOs, networks and coalitions, with the objective of contributing to the general development of the NGO sector in Romania and the development of networks, coalitions, and think tanks effectively

It was also released in April 22nd, 2013 Fund for bilateral relations: Measurement a). Developing a partnership that aims to identify partners to implement projects in partnership with donor entities before or during the preparation of grant applications, development of such partnerships and training in partnership with entities from a donor state application.
